Diva in Name Only

A SUP with Attitude and Good Looks

I’m not sure who came up with the name for the Rogue Diva Paddle Board but if you were to consult the Urban Dictionary, a diva is a less-than-flattering name for someone who believes they are much more loved than they actually are, a selfish, spoiled, and often overly dramatic woman. Wikipedia of course offers a less brash description of a diva, referring instead to a female opera singer with outstanding talent. So why name a paddle board a ‘diva’? Hard to say considering the Rogue SUP Diva is much more the stand on liquid virtuoso than hustler.

The Rogue Diva is basically a touring paddle board, a little wider than the racing SUP boards designed by the company, and a little thicker than those boards. This doesn’t mean it won’t perform in some recreational kind of races; it will in part because it is so lightweight. That alone is a noteworthy achievement. This particular board is a little over six inches thick, which makes it very stable. For most folks, it’ll navigate a decent amount of chop and still track where you need it.

But who will be best served with a board like the Rogue SUP Diva? As you can see, the color of this board leans toward a more feminine SUPer or a man comfortable enough in his skin to ride a pale purple paddle board. Neither sex will be disappointed in the performance of the board though.

As I mentioned, this board is lightweight, making it ridiculously easy for a smaller framed paddle boarder to maneuver it on and off a car rack. But don’t let that fool you because in the open water, the Diva is a real workhorse. As I also mentioned, it handles some modest chop but even on the open ocean, a windy bay, or even a less-than-flat flatwater lake, it’ll do exceptionally well. It allows you to pack everything you’ll need for an overnighter on the board without compromising the stability.

The Rogue Diva has been described as soft on top, slick on the bottom. It has a large deck, centrally located handle, and plenty of tie downs.

One thing for sure, they did an excellent job merging the board with the rider.
